A vegetable with so many names – Yellow pumpkin / sitaphal/ Kashiphal/ petha/ kaddu/ bhopla. Pumpkin is rich in alkaloids, flavonoids, and palmitic, oleic, and linoleic acids. It’s an excellent source of vitamins A, C, and E . ‘Khatta’ is the Hindi term for sour, and ‘meetha’ is for sweetness. Hence this pumpkin sabzi got its name because of its sour and sweet flavors.
